The town you're in feels like it's stuck in the 1800s with an overly religious population highly wear of any suspicious behavior. As a witch who deals in rare items, you came here to gather a list of ingredients for a vampire client in Paris. The antique store has a rare porous opal you've been searching for. The goal is to get in and out of the antique shop without being caught using witchcraft or raising too much suspicion.
<<linkreplace "Walk up to the store">>
The building is old, with weathered paint chipping off the sides. Two large windows sit on either side of the door with fogging edges. The sign above the door reads 'Maryweather Antiques' in a navy blue paint that also peels.

As you walks up to the door, the porch floorboards creek, and the door squeaks on its hinges, there is a musky smell of aged goods. It's a relatively small store, shelves are loaded with antiques lining the walls and divding the room into four aisles. The lights overhead are warm-hued and emphasize the age of the store.
There is a man whom you assume to be the owner sitting on a stool behind the large counter that takes up the entire back wall of the store
[[Say hello to the owner sitting at the counter]]
[[Move to where he cannot see you]]He sits about 30 feet away holding a book with a worn spine and cover. When you say hello he looks up with an uninterested tone asking "Is there anything specific youre looking for?"
[["Yes, Im looking for a porous opal"]]
[["No! Just browsing"]]By moving to where he cannot see you, you can now use a spell to find the object if you wish
[[Use scrying spell]]
[[Use locator spell]]
[[Find opal without magic]]He nods and returns to his book leaving you to explore the store on your own
[[Move to where he cannot see you]] The shop keeper narrows his eyes, suspicious of why you're searching for such an obscure item, "What use do you have for an item like that young lady?"
[["I'm actually searching for a friend"]]
His gaze passes over you but he grunts "We don't sell any of those here"
[[Push for an answer]]
[[Leave it]]"Why?" you ask and the man gets up looking irriated and suspicious"Why?" you ask, and the man gets up, looking irritated and suspicious. You freeze when he comes closer, looking at the amulet necklace you wear with another rare gem
[["You some sort of Witch?"]]
Not wanting to push too far and rouse suspicion, you leave it at that to browse the store
[[Move to where he cannot see you]] You have raised too much suspicion and exposed yourself as a witch. Try again!
[[Arrive at Antique Store]] The scrying spell is much more accurate, but you must use dice for the spell, and it also pulls you from consciousness for 20 seconds, leaving you vulnerable
[[Throw dice on floor for a more accurate throw]]
[[Roll dice in hand for less accurate throw]]The locator spell is discrete, only consisting of a short whispered chant. You can narrow the stone location to the front of the store without drawing suspicion.
[[The opal is on the far left side of the counter]] You eventually make your way toward the front and can see the opal, but the owner is watching you closer since you've been in the store for 20 minutes, raising suspicion levels.
[[The opal is locked in a glass case on the far left side of the counter]]<<linkreplace "Toss Dice">>
You toss the dice on the hardwood to begin the spell and get sucked into your mind. Being unconscious, you don't hear the man getting up at the sound of rattling dice on the floor.
[["WITCH" the man shouts]]
<</linkreplace>><<linkreplace "Shake dice in your hand">>
Shaking the dice in your hand runs the risk of a less accurate throw, but the silent toss does not draw the owner's attention. You are drawn into the spell and see the opals location raising suspicion.
[[The opal is on the far left side of the counter]]
<</linkreplace>>He sees your eyes rolled back in your head and the dice on the floor. The commotion pulls you from the spell, and you have been discovered. Start again!
[[Arrive at Antique Store]] The stone is in a locked glass case labeled 'not for sale. The door to open the case is on the back with a lock. It would help if you distracted the shopkeeper from getting the opal using some spell. He sits about 15 feet away on a stool facing the front with an old beat-up novel in his hand.
[[Cast a spell that causes an item to fall in the front of the store]]
[[Cast a spell that makes the owner search for an item in the back of house, but he is unable to remember what item]]Once he heads to the front you must find a way to open the glass case
[[Wait to if he returns]]
[[Place a charmed rock on the lock on the back of the case to open it]]
Once you whisper your spell, he heads to the back with a glazed look. You hear him rustling around back there
[[Whisper a chant, so you're able to slip your hand through the glass pane]]
[[Wait to see if the spell occupies the man]] You're now able reach through the case
<<linkreplace "Grab Opal" >>
You place the opal safely in your pocket just as the man walks back out, looking slightly confused at not being able to remember the item he was searching for
[[Rush out and wish him a good day]]
[[Point at a random jar of coins to purchase so you don't seem suspicious not buying anything]]
<</linkreplace>>[[After waiting 30 seconds to see if the spell holds]]Just in case he comes back for some reason you wait to see if he returns
[[The owner returns to grab a broom since glass broke from falling]]Just as the lock clicks open, you hear footsteps. There was a glass broken, and the man returned for a broom. He caught you in the middle of breaking into the case
[["THIEF"]]You avoid making your move too early and getting caught by waiting to see if he returns to get the broom. He walks away with the broom in hand to go clean the mess
[[Place the charmed rock on the lock so it pops open]]He shouts as he takes in what you're doing. You have been caught. Try again!
[[Arrive at Antique Store]] You use a glass-bending spell to get the stone, but the time you spent waiting gave time for the spell to wear off.
[["WITCH"]] You're caught with your hand half into the case and must start again.
[[Arrive at Antique Store]] With him fully distracted you open the back of the case and quickly grab the opal before placing the lock back
<<linkreplace "Grab Opal">>
You now have the Opal
[[Hurry out]]
[[Wait for the shop keeper to return to the counter and purchase a red candle he has laying around]]
<</linkreplace>>You turn around to rush out and can
[[Turn right down the aisle]]
[[Turn left down another aisle]]After purchasing the candle so you don't seem suspicious you head to the front door of the shop wishing the man a good day
<<linkreplace "Leave">>
You successfully got the opal without being caught!
<</linkreplace>>In a rush to hurry out, you forget this is the aisle the shopkeeper is in. You collide with him as he returns with the broom in hand and drop the stolen opal
[["THIEF!"]] You turn left to rush down the opposite aisle the man is in, successfully avoiding him and navigating the clear path to the door
<<linkreplace "Leave">>
You successfully got the opal without being caught!
<</linkreplace>>The glass case has a sign reading 'not for sale. The door to open the case is on the back with a lock. It would help if you distracted the shopkeeper from getting the opal using some spell. He sits about 15 feet away on a stool facing the front with an old beat-up novel in his hand.
[[Tell the man you saw a mouse at front of the store]]You head to the door at the front of the store
<<linkreplace "Leave">>
You successfully got the opal without being caught!
<</linkreplace>>The man reaches over the grab the jar of coins, but you don't realize this draws his gaze to the case missing one precious stone
[[He looks over at you with narrowed eyes, "THIEF"]]You have been caught stealing and must start over!
[[Arrive at Antique Store]] He seems startled by this and goes to investigate. You quickly chant a spell to unlock the case and reach in
[[Due to his previous raised suspicion from you loitering, he hovers nearby]]You dont notice this so hears you chant the words then watches as you reach over to open the case
[["WITCH" He shouts]]Suspicions were raised too high from previous choices so you've been caught and must begin again!
[[Arrive at Antique Store]] He yells when the opal clunks at his feet. You have been caught and must start over!
